Seminar Report Part 2...
Hi there, we meet again for my second report of the seminar.
Previously I wrote about a research paper by Associate
Professor Dr. Salmiza Saleh about the Traditional Approach and Alternative
Approach.
In this blogpost, I will write about another research paper
done by a Professor from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
Title: Keterlibatan Pelajar dalam Pembelajaran melalui
Kelestarian Pendidikan
Research by: Professor Dr. Abdul Shukor Shaari
In this presentation, the
presenter said to keep updated with the current and changing system of
education in order to produce a creative, independent, autonomous, multi
intelligence generations.
What was/were the new term(s) you have heard from the presentation?
The term that I was first heard
and was repeatedly used during the presentation was actually the word ‘Kelestarian’
which brings the meaning of sustainability in English.
Sustainability in this research
context is the urge for education to always sustain the knowledge in order to
bring out the best in the country which is directly indicating the students.
As youngsters are soon to be the
one who leads the country, hence the education system in Malaysia should be
able to cater and to keep up with the capabilities and abilities of each individual
especially the youth.
What was / were the technology(ies)/ technological advancement
mentioned by the presenters?
The presenter mentioned about we
should be moving on with the 5.0 in education sustainability. This is means
that Malaysia’s education system as whole should be able to be more proactive
and productive in order to produce autonomous and independent students.
What would be the implications of the points in terms of teaching and
learning in general and specific to your future teaching practices?
The presentations gave me a new
insight of how we as future teacher should not be too comfortable with the
current situation and must always have the desire to change for the betterment in
terms of our teaching method and our ways of delivering information so that we
are able to produce quality generations.
Once again, Thank You for reading !!!
